summer weather worries
I will pray you will all be safe this summer with wild & sudden weather. I'm in NoCo and am under t-storm, hail, and tornado warnngs & watches. I do NOT handle this form of stress well. It's nothing I can affect...AZ monsoons never scared me this much! Barb

Barb, I once lived in a Kanas town where 8 confirmed tornadoes were circling the town like attacking Indians...the only time as an adult I went looking for a hole...take precautions always! But don't fear it till there is a roaring sound coming at you! So many other things to fear that are much closer and more threatening. 😊

It sure seems like all the weather has been wild as you say. I hope it calms around you soon, so you can be calm yourself.

We had been in town 3 days...in our tri-plex approximately 4 hours...husband returning truck rental, knew NOBODY, didn't know the area, streets, sirens were deafening, a stranger helped me get the baby over a fence to another strangers' basement...you can't tell me there aren't angels! 😊. But everybody knew me after that! 😊

Barb, it was all over in less than a half hour. The only way I found my way back was I heard my DH yelling my name...then he yelled at me for not leaving a note...why would I leave a note when I thought it would be blown away? 😊

Barb,
DH and I had to deal with Hurricane Matthew while we were in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was only twenty miles off the coast and the worst part of the whole storm were the high winds, not the flooding which we were worried about.
I understand your discomfort because it is scary, but I hope your weather will calm down soon. Hang in there!
VCESS: my salute to you with 8 of them. That has Got to be a record. After that situation, I would’ve probably started digging a bomb shelter like my grandmother had back in the ‘Cold War’ era, remember? Grandma’s neighbors had a much nicer ‘bomb shelter’ than she did; the neighbor’s son took me down into it to show it off, so to speak. I told my grandmother about it and..well...I won’t repeat Grandma’s words....😬

Praying for a light tornado and Hurricane season this year for all of you who live in states where they occur more frequently. My sister lives in Florida and when she first moved down there she wasn't used to the hurricane season and it was a little scary for her at first. Now she is more accustomed to it and is always watching the weather channel it seems. I think that's why I stay put in PA not too many of those coming through although we do get the residual winds and rain. Stay Safe!

As full time RV'ers we watch the weather all the time! Hurricanes don't scare me because there's plenty of warning so you can get out of it's path. We experienced an earthquake once but the building we were in was fairly new so it wasn't too bad. Living in Pennsylvania my whole life until we left 7 years ago I've lived through blizzards, just have to run to the grocery store for milk, bread and eggs......it's actually a joke now! BUT tornados scare the living day lights out of me!!! They always seen to occur during the night....probably not but seems that way. And being in an RV doesn't help. The weather has been crazy lately......snow in South Texas in December and last week an F2f tornado but Wilkes Barre, PA......north east part of the state. But if anyone knows of a place where the weather is perfect 100% of the time please post the location. I'm sure many people will want to move there!😁

"perfect" leaves me wishing for changing seasons, colors, wild life...sitting in the tub listening to geese migrate in the early fall morning...an occasional thunderstorm...changing skies and temps. Humanity is never satisfied! 😊
