Need some ideas, ladies!
My third oldest daughter -23- is graduating from culinary school this spring and I want to do a stitching for her. The graduation ones I've seen are from high school or college and not career specific. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

By the way: you weren't kidding when you said Artcey isn't easy!! SO many color changes!! I finally started going by each 10x10 grid sections and it's MUCH better!! Don't know WHY I never thought of that before! Duh!!

Hi there. If you Google and write graduation cross stitch pattern you will get a lot of them or you can add the world Google and inside you will write the word Pinterest/cross stitch pattern for graduation.
Good luck for your and your daughter.

Not a lot of luck finding a culinary graduation pattern. I did find a very cute pattern on this website titled Lady Chef by Mystic Stitch. You could stitch it and then add your own graduation information. There is another cute one on 123Stitch.com entitled Little Baker by Lena Lawson Needleworks that you could stitch and then add the graduation information. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Another possibility is to contact one of the websites that will design a pattern for you from a picture that you might have of your daughter in her culinary uniform.

This Spring? 2015 perhaps? The best idea is the one to find a good female cook design and add your daughter's name & the graduation date. Use an alphabet from another pattern you have, or check out Amazon. It doesn't have to say "graduate" since that's obvious.

Our Miss C is hooked on libraries, but in most states the libraries don't have needlework books, so don't bother looking.

Yes Mrs Jlhewes the library is my second home. If you don't find me at home that means I am there.

I agree with jlhewes. Our library here did not have hardly any cross stitch books the last time I was there. With my laptop computer I don't need to go to the library anymore, because I can find anything I want on my computer, and make copies of what I want to save. I even let my library card expire. Once a year I go through my books and DVD's I have either read or watched and don't want anymore and take them to the library for them to use. When my sons were small we spent so much time at the library getting books. One thing I did with my sons was read to them every night before they went to sleep. Guess I got off topic. Sorry.

I hope libraries never close for those who need and use them.

Never get a Kindle, syagel. I didn't look at it for a couple of months until I had read a paper edition by an author I like. I downloaded several books by her and have been hooked ever since. I loved libraries when I was a kid. I wish that I had the money that I have spent on books. I always donate books since I can only read a book once. Now I can no longer donate just send them to the cloud. I also hope that libraries will never become obsolete, there are still many people out there who enjoy and rely on them. I always made sure that my kids had a "book allowance" so they could purchase their little books, etc. Reading is one of the most pleasurable hobbies - right up there with cross stitching. Too bad that they do not offer more books on our favorite hobby. It's difficult to find good books at bookstores pertaining to needle work. Most only cover the basics. I get much better information on this chat.

I would go with syagel or jlhewes' suggestions. I've used different patterns to make it fit the occasion and they all turned out well. Just play around with it. Good luck.

Getting back to cooks & graduations, lpnbarnes. There's a darling one here at ECS by Sue Hillis. "Cluttered Kitchen" already has text. How about changing the message to "A Graduation / is a happy occasion / daughter's name / graduation date".

Just suggesting ... Check it out

It is cute.

I did "The Pirate's Creed" by her (long story) and it stitched up quickly and looked nice.
