Website search isn't working....
Hi all,

I'm new to this website, and am back to doing some cross stitch after about a 20 year break. Anyway, I found the website and was interested in some designs by Gracewood Stitches. I did a search, and nothing came up. So, I went back and did a Google search for Gracewood Stitches, and Everything Cross Stitch came up showing the designs I wanted.

Just wanted to post that there seems to be a problem with the site's search option.

Tap on Cross Stitch Patterns. Scroll down to the Designers tab. Tap on "see complete list.". Gracewood was there. 25 or so designs.

Doesn't work? Try another browser -- I'm using Google. IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.

How I found Gracewood at this site: Go to the cross stitch patterns link on left. Wait for it to load the categories, and then wait a few seconds to scroll down to patterns by manufacturer. Click on the liink to see all of them, and an alphabetical listing appears. I found Gracewood, and discovered that I ordered one of their patterns this past Friday--the winter log cabin square. Can't wait to get it!

Jihewes, you beat me to it :-) I am using my Kindle, which has a quirky browser, and had no problem.

They changed the page, Troy! Unnecessary & hard on the Newbies. Used to come up with 2 choices: Designers, or categories. Now, going straight to Categories, & you hunt for the Designer tab. Once found, you still have another step to get the complete list. Bad IT!

Found the old 2 choice on another entry page, so ... Apologies!

Thanks all! I couldn't even get the designs to come up when I chose Gracewood Stitches under the manufacturer category. But, I did get my order in, by finding the designs I wanted through the Google search, and using that link. I'm using Safari, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I'll have to try out Firefox next time and see if that works any better. I haven't done cross stitch in years and just discovered this site tonight. I really like the selection available, and the fact that I can order my floss right along with the rest of my order. Life is busy, and this made things so easy. Shipping costs were reasonable too! Not worth the 45 minute drive to the nearest needlework shop!

arottenbucher, I ordered the Fall and Winter log cabin squares! I am just finishing up an 8 week quilting class and thought this design was so appropriate.

I've been doing machine embroidery for a few years and really love it, and many of the techniques I can do with my machines. But, I've been in the mood to have a hand needlework project to do, while watching TV in the evening. I discovered these log cabin squares in an article in a back issue of Just Cross Stitch, and knew they were exactly what I wanted.

Elizabeth, I picked the log cabin because I've always wanted to make a log cabin quilt. Instead, I got hooked on cross stitch when I retired two years ago. So this is the closest I can come to a quilt. But you are right, if I were to sew that quilt, I'd be stuck at my sewing machine, were as I can watch TV or move out to my sunny porch and do cross stitch. Some day I'll make that quilt, but right now I'd rather be cross stitching. Glad you have picked up the hobby too, Adele

arottenbucher, the quilt we did in class was a machine quilted sampler of all sorts of quilt blocks. The easiest, and my favorite, was the log cabin quilt block. It went together easily and didn't have to be quite as precise as some of the blocks with the half and quarter square triangles.

I don't think I'll ever make another full size quilt though. I was more interested in learning the quilting techniques to use for smaller things like table runners and wall hangings.

I always thought quilting was some big mystery. But, it has been much easier than I ever imagined...once I got the hang of precise cutting and placement of the pieces.

The log cabin quilt block is perfect for a beginner.

P.S. I found this web site too, a few months ago, searching for a pattern. I started reading the blog and everyone here has been so nice and helpful. I feel like I've meet some wonderful friends who share my love of cross stitch and other things. Without them, I'd have no one else I know who understands that love and talk/blog about it. Please visit often. I do. Adele
