Doing a pattern on bigger count
Has anyone ever done the Santa Claus at The North Pole or Spirit of Winter by Heaven and Earth Designs. I'm 70 and my eyes are not what they use to be and I am having a hard time trying to
do these patterns on 25 count. Has anyone ever done either one on about 16 or 18 count?
If so, does it look okay?

I have never done these beautiful patterns by Heaven and Earth Designs. If you did the Spirit Of Winter on 16ct. Aida fabric the finished size would be 22 x 27 1/4 inches. The Santa At The North Pole pattern would be 14 1/2 inches x 25 inches finished. This does not count adding 3 inches on a side for framing. I have never used linen. I do almost all of my projects on 16ct or 18ct. Aida using 2 threads and they look fine. I am sure that someone has done these and can give you more information. I am working on a very large pattern myself. Enjoy your stitching.

I do a lot of 18 count work because I like the more delicate look. As I got older I found I needed more magnification. But I didn't want to wear those big heavy things over my head. I found inexpensive +4 (or 3.5) reading glasses. Too strong for reading every day but perfect for stitching on 18 or 22 count fabric and working with seed beads. I get mine at big fled markets here in Florida.
