You can switch over to your own 14ct. Aida but since it is a kit you will not have enough floss to do the project. Dimensions has it's own floss so you would have to change to DMC and purchase enough for a 14ct. Aida fabric. Cyberstitchers.com. has a conversion chart for Dimensions floss to DMC. The final size as 14ct. would be 9 inches x 6 1/2 inches. Hope this helps.

Do not mix floss, unless you can widely separate the brands. Better to switch entirely & eat the cost.

Jlhewes is correct. I never mix floss brands. if you are going to need more floss I would definitely change over to all DMC floss which I is all I use. A small spot might not show, but not a large area where you can really tell the difference.

also use only dmc.. others may be good but this is what I started with.. "don't fix it if it isn't broke" my husband's favorite saying..
