Garden of Delight
jclifford, look at the Garden of Delight by Heaven and Earth. What do you think? Should I get it? It reminds me of a Persian wall hanging.

Do you think you would be able to finish this,Tex?

What a beautiful pattern. I know it would take a while to finish, but I would give it a try if you like it. With 185,000 stitches it would be a long term project, but I have faith in you getting it done if you do it.

Sandra, that will be a great undertaking, but if you work on it little by little, you can do it. However, when will you have time to read? Just kidding. If you are like me, I cross in the morning or afternoon when there is daylight to help me see, and I read in the evenings after the sun sets. I don't watch much TV. And by the way, those authors write everyday, and proof read the next; and as Krueger said, some days he pats himself on the back and says what a genius, and other days he re-reads what he wrote and knows a third grader could have done better. But he keeps plugging along and has a great sense of humor. He does not write at home--too many distractions. After his wife leaves for work (she's a lawyer like Cork's wife), he goes down to his friendly cafe (like Hemmingway did :-), gets a cup of coffee, and writes on his laptop, not paper and pen as Hemmingway did in Paris (Krueger said all this with a smile), but it is true. He had to give up on one cafe as fans started hunting him down, so his current cafe is kept a secret. He likes the noise as a background and gets lost in his writing, often his coffee going cold. I know what he means about too many distractions like when I want to cross stitch; thank goodness hubby likes watching sports or tinkering outside and doesn't mind my hobbies.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ladies! Heck no, jl, I would never get it done. LOL I would look at it from time to time and run my hands over the floss. and that would be about it.
Actually, I was messing with jclifford. I think we are alike in that we cannot resist a beautiful pattern. Like mouse and peanut butter.
syagel, when you mentioned 185,000 stitches I almost fell out of my chair. It was like holding a cross in front of a vampire.
It is gorgeous and I will buy it. Just to have and hold. Maybe one day my Olivia will stitch it in memory of me. LOL

Alele, I do the same - stitch during the day and read at night. I always have time to read because I stay up until 1 am. Olivia comes over at 6:30 and my morning starts with regrets and the promise that I won't stay up so late again. Some books are so good I just can't stop. I'm working on Thunderbay right now and it promises to be a good plot.
Interesting how he can work in a café. Well he is probably in his own world. I can see where staying at home would be distracting. There are a million things to do.

I could not resist. I just ordered the pattern, fabric and floss. Some just jump out at you and will not let go. Wish me luck.
Olivia will start Kindergarten next year, so I'll have more time.
Do I hear volunteers wanting to stitch this for me?????? LOL

You are so funny! I got a good belly laugh from the vampire comment. Stitching this piece might be a way to keep my own stuff from piling up, but I think I'll pass.

I thought about your KISS yesterday. I watched a movie and Klimt was mentioned. DH and I watched a JW movie the other night, I watch something with him from time to time. Not my first choice because our tastes are so different but I hate for him to be by himself so much. In any case, I thought about syagel and her JW project. So now I have my own. Can't wait until it arrives. I'll probably stitch up all the small stuff and then work on two so it won't become boring. I was sober too when I ordered.
Daughter and I had a bottle of wine not too long ago and I decided to order two costly watches one for each of us. Her birthday was coming up. I have not had a drop since. I rarely drink and have zero tolerance. Valuable lesson. Except now I do silly stuff while in a sober state. The price is right for this piece but the work!!!!!

Texas Stitcher which John Wayne project did you order? I am working on the one for my son entitled Captured by Mystic Stitch right now.
