change
I am wondering what size adia I would need if I was to change this from an 18 count to a 14? Or if that can even be done.

Hello,

You can definitely switch the fabric size to whatever you prefer. If you were to stitch this design on a 14ct Aida, the fabric size would need to be 22" x 29". This size will give you 2.1" of fabric on the left and right and 2.3" on the top and bottom. The stitched area will be 17.9" x 24.4". I hope this helps :)

Also, a great tool to use is the Fabric Calculator that is on the left side of the screen. It helps you determine the size of the fabric you need to complete a project. All you need to have is the pattern size in stitches :) Thank you!!

You will need more floss for some colors. Little used ones will be OK. I don't know if Mystic Stitch supplies a stitch statistic sheet.

I am working on a Mystic Stitch pattern right now and they do give you a list of how many skeins of each color you would need for the suggested fabric size. If you are going to change to 14ct. instead of 18 ct. I would get an extra skein of each DMC floss color. If it is a color where more than one is suggested then I would get 2 extra skeins of those colors. Any leftover colors can go in your floss stash.

When I do a project I leave 3 inches on a side for framing. If I was doing this project I would use a piece of 14ct. Aida 24 x 30 inches. Every stitcher has their own theory. Good Luck it is a beautiful project. With Mystic Stitch projects it is all full cross stitches and the entire fabric is stitched.
