Is this pattern a difficult one to make?

It definitely is not easy. DO NOT ATTEMPT if you are a beginner. There are half stitches. There is a lot of shading which means many flosses that look the same but are a shade different. In addition, it seems to be the consensus on this chitchat that Dimension kits tend to skimp on the amount of floss they provide and do not have a good customer service record. I definitely pick something else.

It sure is a cute pattern. I read the description states that there are full and half stitches. Half stitches are half of an X. I find them not too hard. Quarter stitches are something else...very difficult for me. It comes with 18 count aida. It would be easier to work if you bought an appropriate sized 14 count. It would be larger, so you would have to go to the store to match up the threads in the kit because there wouldn't be enough. It would take you a long time to do it....it would be quite a large picture. The little girl and flowers with all those nice colors would be fun for me to stitch....That big brown door in the background would be tedious for me and I just might put it down and not pick it up for the monotony of the door.

I've done several Dimensions kits and they turn out quite beautifully. But they are difficult; blended threads, half and quarter stitches, lots of backstitching. I haven't had any problem with running short of thread, but I do find that it tangles and knots up a lot.

I hadn't even thought about stitching the door. You could stitch this pattern and delete the door leaving the background white. It would still look nice. Since you asked my opinion I still would pass on stitching this as a kit

This is more for an intermediate to advanced stitcher BUT........

If you really, really, REALLY LOVE IT, then you might want to consider buying this as one of your "long term" goals, keeping it in your stash for a later date when you feel more comfortable doing this pattern IF you are a beginner... I stuck to small projects on aida fabric when I first started counted cross stitching a LONG, LONG TIME ago, then moved up to larger projects and to linen as I became more confident with the different stitches (1/2, 1/4) and experienced with some of the "rules" in counted cross stitching.

Perhaps if you decide to delete the door, you could stitch it on a pink or yellow 14 count aida? I might do that myself!
