Patterns
What does it mean when it is a pattern? Is the pattern stamped on the
cloth, or is it a counted stitch?

Jody, I would say this is counted cross stitch. If a project is stamped, the information at the top of the item will say stamped. If you click on "Stamped Projects" at the left of this screen, you can see that both kits and project items are marked stamped. Otherwise, it is counted cross stitch!

"Pattern" means you are buying just the pattern and no fabric or floss.

Many of us that have been doing cross-stitch forever have a supply of thread so we don't need kits. If you are interested in doing more x-stitch, the way to build up a supply of thread is to buy it at Michael's or JoAnn's when they have a sale.

jerseycrafter is correct, it is a pattern. If you click on the picture and look under the title where it says "Product Type" it says cross stitch pattern.

A Pattern is a chart on graph paper, with symbols to represent different colors. You take the graph as a symbol of the cloth & make cross stitches on the fabric to match the graph. Over holes on Aida diagonally, & over 2 threads diagonally on other cloth.
