ATARAH
A few months ago someone was looking for a pattern for an atarah. That is a strip of fabric with a prayer that is sewn onto a tallis/tallit.

I don't think that she stayed with our group. I found a simple basic pattern for applique or embroidery that can be embellished. Best thing about it is that is free.

judaiquilt.com -- look for Atarah on a roll.

MISS C -- sounds like you are going thru a rough spell. Do you have anyone nearby to help you out? I hope you are right handed. A friend of mine managed to cut her hand and sliced a tendon.

I don't quilt either. However, that is the site where I bought my kippa/yarmulke pattern from. It is not quilted. The atara pattern is free. You can embroider or back stitch it. I happened to tumble across this site and decided to pass it on.
