Counted Cross Stitch Tutorial
Thought some of you might like access to the Tutorial I quoted the other day. It has loads of information and is 33 pages long. I copied it and put it in a three-ring binder for reference. It is called Needlework FAQ: Counted Cross Stitch Tutorial and the web address is:

Enjoy!

Senior Stitcher, it's impressive to me that with all your obvious experience, you still seek the new, the different information. What a scholar of the needle you are. :) My compliments! :)

VCESS: Thank you for the compliment! I learned most of what I know on my own so I'm not sure if I do things the right way. The only lessons I had were on how to make little Christmas tree ornaments (those 2-3 inch ones that go in the little round frames). I branched out from there. I don't know anyone around here who cross-stitches. I've only had the Tutorial for a year or so but it's nice to have some help when I need it. This chat room is a great source of information too. These ladies know a lot and are willing to share, which is very helpful.

Senior Stitcher!
It is indeed a great tutorial that only requires opening your binder. It has helped me immensely during my recovery from falling all the time. (It will be TWO whole years on August 1st since I have fallen!)
I look stuff up when my poor old brain shorts out on a technique...I think I have the cross stitches down, But not some specialty stitches that used to seem so simple years ago!

Lots of prayer and cross stitch since, plus a physical therapist who recomended pool therapy. I still go twice weekly and love it! Lots of exercise for all the joints and no Mean Old Mister Gravity!

your webpost is great, so helpful. I will have to get a binder and do the same thing! I started like you on the little round frame works and mason jar lids... I was hooked. I did some beautiful things back then. I am just now (last 3 years) getting back to small challenges.

Would like to also try my had a crochet and knitting.

Senior Stitcher....thank you for sharing that web address with us. I copied and printed out a copy for my tips folder that I keep in my stitching bag. I learned that the basics of embroidering in a Home Ec class in high school using huck toweling and gingham fabric. Those were the days!+-:)

Thank you, ladies, for your comments. I'm glad to share the Tutorial with all of you. I don't even remember where I heard about that website but the copy in my three-ring binder has really come in handy. My best to all of you.

Sue Pitt,
They say being in a pool of water is like being on the moon with it's lower gravity.
Loved watching the astronauts on the moon when they would walk!!! I would weigh less on the moon which WORKS FOR ME!!!

Senior Stitcher, thank you for sharing. I haven't had the opportunity to read the entire tutorial but was really impressed by the topics that I did read. I'll be printing it out and placing it in a binder as well. I quickly forget, so this will really come in handy.
Thank you again.

I haven't read the whole Tutorial either - I just look things up as I need them. I put the pages in sheet-protectors, by the way, so they'd be easy to put in the binder. I also add other odds and ends about cross-stitch as I come across them.

Good idea. This can include info from the Chit Chat, websites ,conversion charts etc. It's nice to have to only go to one source instead of wasting time looking in several places. That's the case now.
LazBoy just returned the chair. I haven't even tried it out yet. It looks much better now. Hopefully, it will also be easier to work. Reclining is not a problem but putting it upright is. My arms are too short. All this stuff is designed for men that are at least 6 feet tall. Olivia will be happy. She told me yesterday that she "loveded" that chair so much. She places the Ott light over it and pretends that she is at the beach. Some beach scene - an almost black linen like material covered recliner and an Ott light. That's what's so great about childhood - imagination.
So now I no longer have an excuse.
