Is there a product that you can use to cross stitch on a tshirt? Thank you for any help.

Yes, it is called Waste Canvas. I have used it many times and it works really well. You baste it onto the shirt over the area you want to stitch. When you are finished with the stitching (the cross stitching) you pull out the basting, wet the area of the shirt that has the waste canvas, and gently pull it out a thread or two at a time. It takes awhile to remove, but it's worth it. Just make sure it is really wet. I have always put iron on pellon on the back of the design when I am finished because I think it helps to keep the design looking nice when it goes through the was and it helps to secure the stitches.

Waste canvas comes in a number of sizes 8, 14 count etc. I am sure ECS sells it on their websiite. Hope this helps, Linda

Am I mistaken that there is a kind that dissolves?

Ingraham described it perfectly. I used to make a lot of sweatshirts with counted cross-stitch on them and that's exactly how I did it. It's really a lot of fun.

I haven't heard of Waste Canvas that dissolves. What I used just got very soft when I wet it and the threads were fun to pull out from under the stitching. Give it a try - bet you'll like it!
