Well.....what is on the bottom portion of your project ?

U can start a new project with another material that suit the pattern that U have in mind and leave this one aside. U will get a pattern that will suit it I am sure. Have fun

Miss C. is absolutely correct. When you run out you are out. Sorry.

Unless you can finish the pattern and have an inch or so left then a skilled person can add material and a skilled framer can camouflage it with matting and that will be costly.

go to scarletquince.com.. I discovered this site only today... there is lots of help..
scroll down the left side & find the subject, something about adding on to material with fusible facing.. I looked at lots of things, was interested in the pinhead stitch, when you have single stitches on projects; stars,etc..

hope this makes sense & helps..

YES! Thank you, Darlene! I knew I had seen the fabric addition SOMEWHERE! I've been racking my poor feeble noggin'.....

But just because you can add fabric doesn't mean you should. Adding could also add to your headaches. Miss C and Tx Stitcher are probably right. Count it as Lesson Learned, burn it, and start over..... We've all done something that broke our hearts..... And lived to talk about it....endlessly! :)

I agree w/ you; depending how much & where would determine if you should start over or try to add on, but it is good to know there is an option..
once (on a small piece, 5x7, there was a slight shortage on one side when I centered it; I used flat lace on the edges to trim, than framed it.. worked out great..

by the way, someone on this chat mentioned scarlet quince in an earlier chat; I pasted & kept the site name to investigate it..

I now have a folder on my desktop labeled "cross stitch" for all the help & hints you great stitchers have shared.
love this site..
good stitching

I came up short on fabric along time ago when I first started cross stitching many years ago. I only had about 1.5 inches left on the bottom. What I did was even up the sides and sew some of my quilting binding around all the sides, put a backing fabric on it, and made it a wall hanging. Couldn't tell it was a "screw up'.
