Cross Stitch magazines
Are there any cross stitch magazines being published anymore? I used to subscribe to Cross Country Stitching but i know they stopped publishing in 2013...i looked at the magazines in the store today and there are several for knitting and quilting but nothing for cross stitch...i miss looking thru a magazine for ideas and quick easy projects...does anyone know of one?

I think there is a magazine called, "Just Stitching" and there is also a magazine called, "The Stitchery".
Herschnerrs still puts out a magazine but it is not exclusively cross stitching.

I used to subscribed to the magazine Just CrossStitch, but cancelled my subscription because patterns were not difficult enough and so many ads. There are a couple good ones that come from England, but they are $10 or $12 a copy.

I got rid of Just Cross Stitch & am cancelling Cross Stitch and Needlework. Jcs is Annie's so is "dumbed down" Cs&N hasn't had anything I want to stitch.

The Stitchery, Keepsake Needlearts, Herrscheners are catalogs.

Thanks for the feedback..sounds like the magazines that are available aren't really what I'm looking for.... I'll stick to looking at websites like ECS for patterns of subjects i'm interested in..

There are several cross stitch mags such as The world of cross stitch, Cross Stitch Collection, Cross Stitcher to name a few. Most of these can be found at Coles, and other book stores in their magazine section. If you are not sure just ask the staff there and they will point you in the right direction. You will enjoy tons of great patterns plus you get a bonus gift with each mag. Hope this helps and wish you luck.

Stoney Creek Collection magazine has a nice selection of patterns. They also have a nice website and are very user friendly "contact us". I have been reading their magazine and ordering from them for years.

I have been cross stitching for 30+ years. I enjoy Just Cross Stitch and Cross Stitch and Needlework. I especially enjoy CS-N --- patterns are in color, bright, and fun. I like the Christmas series that have appeared in the last few years. I don't always want complicated---sometimes fun will do.

The trend nowadays seems to be that a lot of counted cross stitchers have a tendency to look at the different patterns available on the internet now...possibly a reason that many cross stitch magazines are going out of business. How can a magazine compete with a website that has as many as 10,000 patterns or more to chose from?

I subscribe to Just Cross Stitch because some days I just like turning the pages of a magazine. And I'm slowly working on their blue jays and bird house picture. I also like their Christmas ornament issue. They also started a Hardanger series, and I'm tempted to give hardanger a try. Adele

seems like every other month I see xstitch mags. at Walgreens when I'm picking up prescriptions. But, I tend to look at ECS and Artecy for patterns. Also, going through old mags. that people have shared with me.
