Fishing and/or Cowboy patterns
My brother LOVES to fish and can't seem to find any 'simple' patterns - like lures, flies, individual fish, etc. I'm not into complicated patterns - any suggestions ??? Also, my bro/sis-in-law live in cowboy country here in Nevada so I'm always looking for cowboy/cowgirl related patterns - again, nothing too big. Would love any suggestions where to look ! !!

I have a number of not too complex fishing patterns that I have found over the years, partly because my dad and my husband both loved to fish and because I like to fish as well. You simply need to consider a few things. What type of fishing or type of fish really attracts them? Fly fishing can be very specific, as my husband only likes that. My dad and I prefer all kinds of sport fishing from fly fishing for trout to bass fishing and ocean sport fishing. Spend some time looking for what you want. I google fishing and I check out searching on ebay for older patterns.
As for cowboys, there are also so many different patterns available. I would search cowboy and westernthemes for different designs. Don't get pulled into large or complicated designs first. I think searching on this site is a good place to start, as well as their sister site at patternsonline.com
There you can download and print out patterns at less money, if you have that capability. 123stitch.com and other cross stitch sites also offer many choices.
Use what you know of your own stitching abilities to choose something that you will enjoy stitching and that they will enjoy receiving. It is all just one stitch at a time! Have fun!

Here you go, go to Stoney Creek. There's two different patterns. One of a bass and another of just lures. You will have to buy the magazine (which I did and it's very inexpensive). You will really enjoy this magazine as it has many patterns that are fun to stitch. I have a subscription and I love it their selections. You can also buy mats and frames for your projects too (little expensive, but well worth it).

The caption reads: If the hats a missin, I've gone fishing!

Also for the Cowboy: Stoney Creek is limited there, but some cute cowgirl patterns.
