IMAGINATING PATTERNS
I stumbled across an interesting article regarding how Imaginating Patterns got started. Thought some of you might also like to read it. Although, I love the look of their word patterns, I've never stitched one. I like that they offer the option of leaflet only or a kit on many of their designs. Don't like kits.

Miss C -- I don't understand what you are trying to tell me. I already know that Hoffman is a big wholesale distributor of cross stitch patterns. I am pretty sure that you cannot purchase from them directly. But, I have been wrong before.

Hoffmandis = Distributor only. Give your store the id number & they can get the item. Had trouble with Freda Murfin at that time, as she wasn't on their list.

Nancy, I have two of the Imaginating patterns that I haven't even started, but as you mentioned that you haven't done one yet, I thought I'd mention why mine are still looking at me, rather than me at them. I saw on the order "thingy" that it called for 28 count, but I can't see well enough to do anything so small--I go batty even with 18 count. So, I figured I'd just use the 14 count and adapt. I had NO IDEA that there were a gajillion 1/4 stitches, which is really time consuming on 14 (for me, at least), and I wanted to do these as "quickies". Shame on me for not checking it out first, and if you can see well enough to work on 28 count, I'm sure it'll be easy-peasy for you. Just thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't noticed.

They say the "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king", but all I can think of is "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed stitcher is a big squares person."

GINNA -- I am a one-eyed princess. Have a hole in my left retina(very limited peripheral vision) and extremely myopic in the right eye. I, too, avoid fractional stitching so I guess I will just admire Imaginating patterns and stitch something else.

NANCYE G, My blind eye is my left, too. So . . . I just pulled out one of those Imaginating patterns, and am going to start it right now. If I start freaking out, I'll bag it. If I can manage it, I'll send you the other one, because I guarantee you, this'll be the last one I ever do! Lor-dee, who ever thought there'd be two one-eyed stitchers in the kingdom? Or maybe there are more? Like pod people? I'm in a silly late afternoon mode, so feel free to just shake your head and wonder if I'm communicating regarding Imaginating, or hyperventilating while fraction-ating!

GINNA -- thanks but no thanks if you are freaking out because of the fractional stitches I don't even want to look at it!!!!

NancyE, Okay, I actually did do some of the "imaginating-fractionating". Phew! It really isn't bad on the 14 ct; the hard part is seeing the symbols. I enlarged the pattern on my copier so I could read it, and that made it somewhat easier. Honestly, what I found most annoying is the border--If you don't want to carry over 4 squares each time on the back (I don't like to do that) there's a LOT of "stop and go." It's much more tedious than it is difficult to see, I'm finding. In a nutshell, I might pick up this thing once a week for an hour or two, but that's as much as I can stand at one time. You want the other one? ; )

BTW, the funniest thing about it is the name of the pattern I picked up. It's called "Let's Do Wine." I think that's a fine idea, and I'm off to grab a glass now. Woohoo!

VCESS, If we take this show on the road, you'd better get out of the way! I figure that given two right eyes between us, I can safely say . . . wait for it . . . two wrongs don't make a right, but two rights definitely can't make a left. Ta-da!
