This would be only the second one that I would be doing - the first one sometime ago and actually would compliment this one. I just want to make sure that the pattern is stamped on the canvas?
Also, I seem to remember something about the thread - do you need to separate it instead of using the full strand, pull it apart and use just half?

No, sorry! It's a counted kit on 18 ct plain ivory Aida cloth. Their floss is 6 strand. The instructions will tell you how many strands to use.
