I read about this pattern online..you personalize it with a photo and the "pet " names that you call your dog..I love it...I have two very beloved Dalmatians so I must get this...

It really is adorable...is there one for cats, I wonder? :)

VCESS...haven't seen a cat one, but since my cat passed away, I have not had one. We lost our buddy, my stitchy pal, Spike the Boston Terrier (terror) just yesterday. I would probaly do an internet search for cat cross stitch photo frame, or the like...

Su, I'm so sorry about your Boston Terrier. I know there's a hole in your heart - I lost my Cairn terrier in August and the house is so quiet. I hope your heart heals fast.

Su, so sorry to hear that your Spike has passed. Although I am not a pet person I can certainly understand how painful it must to lose such a loyal companion.

I watched a German television station and many pet owners now would like to have their pets interred in the same grave with them. The clergy is totally against it at this point. I say it's my grave, I paid for it and as long as it doesn't harm the environment by polluting with toxic substances, I should be able to have what I want buried with me. Sorry, but I had to say this.

I love the picture. My son is a huge boxer fan and is on his third one. He is a bona fide member of the family. That would be my choice if I were to get a pet. Severe allergies.

Looks like a photo to me. If it is, it's a great idea.

Su, I am so sorry about your beloved pet...I've lost many pets, but the last two...18 & 19 years old...so difficult and I miss them, still. Actually, I miss them all, but those two were special. Are you getting another? Too soon?

We have two other dogs, one a very scared rescued part Boston who had a very awful life. We have had her with us for ten months now and I am trying to convince her that nothing scary ever happens in my lap. We also have a Pug who worships DH much more than she does me because he will give her food off his plate. I won't. It is not the same though, as having a friend who loves stitching. Spike's favorite time was bobbinating! He loves to watch it happen and seemed completely unaffected if he had floss falling on his head...I will miss my little pal.

I'm sorry for your loss Su! We lost our two Goldens 3 years apart and it is so painful! Both of the dogs have gone to the "Rainbow Bridge" about 3 and 5 years ago. I agree with Texas! If a person wants their pet interred with them, why not? After all, the Egyptians did it with their pets through mummification and I'm sure no one thought it strange..

Some years back I read where an heiress died and they followed her wishes and buried her sitting behind the driver's wheel of her beloved race car. Now THAT would make one worry about the environment "sludge" the car would create as it disintegrates.

Did you get Spike as a puppy? Is that why he was a cross stitch buddy because he grew up in the milieu?

The mistreated dog that you adopted is indeed fortunate. I see some horrible sights on the news. Some cruel person had set a cat on fire, her poor little ears were burned off. Somebody else had stuff a dog into a box, taped it shut and threw it by the side of the road. A motorist noticed that it was moving and when he investigated he found the poor little dog. I'd like to do that to the perp and see how he/she likes it. Sorry, I feel very strongly about cruelty.
Your dog will probably always suffer from fear and anxiety. I know little of the animal psyche but mistreatment must be hard to forget and trust must be difficult to regain. Good luck, Bermuda.
