Viktoriya Touched
This is five months of work..While she is beautiful, she is a pale green.. I have been cross stitching forever and had thought I could have complete trust in the person grafting the charts and colors..Viktoriya does not appear green on the picture. I will finish this picture but hope no one else has to deal with disappointment. I will attempt to notify HAED about the coloring. Kreinik very fine braid was also suggested for the background and on the face but believe me that is not going to happen. Thanks for listening..

She is very beautiful, I agree that you piece definitely looks greenish. I looked at the one on HAED site and that is more ivory tones. How frustrated you must be. I'm glad you are going to finish her and I know it will be lovely. Just not what you expected.

Just wondering. Did you start at the bottom and work up or did you start in the middle

I started in the top left corner that included the Kreinik very fine braid..got it done to where the hat started and hated the braid..took a week to take that out. I love cross stitch but this has just been a chore and not fun. Too late though I have to complete this project now. I have not even thought about the background yet. That will be another thorn 😡

du-u-uh I just put my glasses on and enlarged the picture. I was looking at it upside down. I knew that it wasn't quite right. That is why I asked if you started at the bottom.

I've been having quite a few visual issues the past week or so. I am calling my eye doctor first thing tomorrow morning

What color fabric are you stitching this on? Could it be the fabric color that is "bleeding" through the floss for her skin?

I agree to contact HAED (Michelle) by e-mail. She is very good at responding to questions.
I'm working on "Shining Hour" and the angel's wing of the left (facing the picture) is a bit darker than the picture but I haven't stitched enough of it (only top 1/3) to notice too much of a difference.

I am working on 25 count white Laguna. I keep it covered when I'm not working on it so no problem there. It is the thread colors that are so disappointing. The background was Kreinik #4 very fine braid. That is $3.89 a piece, called for 19. Worked a 3by3 square of that which I didn't like at all so I took that out and started working on the hat. I don't know how I'm going to work the background ..will have to figure that out about the colors too. While I love a challenge (worked Snow last year) if this one gets done it will be a major accomplishment:)

Oh while I am at it I don't know why I can not post the photo up right...

Somehow, the colors fit. It's not b/w or sepia, but some other unusual color palette.

I have worked on HAED patterns that call for Kreinik very fine braid & IT DOESN'T WORK. I too had to pick out a large area. I found either blending filament or Petite Treasures Braid from Rainbow gallery worked beautifully. I can't find a web site for it & I get mine from my x-stitch shop here in London Canada. Their web site is www.threadneye.com. The braid can be used as single strand (doesn't need to be seperated) or as blending & comes in all colors. I know the store ships anywhere. Your picture is beautifulas is so far.

Have you tried the Kreinik blending filament for those section calling for the braid. I had a project which called for Kreinik braid and did NOT like the look of it, so I frogged it out and used a blending filament instead and it turned out to my liking.
Obviously from the color of your fabric, there isn't a "bleed thru" situation...
I don't know how "green" it looks from your end, but the facial features don't look green to me. Or am I having cataract color distortion?

DMC thread 3024 and 3072 both have a pale greenish tint to it which is not the color I was expecting for facial coloring in relation to the picture. I don't know how the colors are selected probably computer but not visually. At any rate this color is not pleasant to me for this beautiful girl..
