Embroidery hoop
Hi,

I left a bright pink embroidery hoop on my 16 count pink aida. It left a purple stain on my cross stitch. Will I be able to get that out? Thank you, Mary

Wow! Never heard of this happening! Hope somebody can help you!

Sounds strange to me.

Were you using a plastic hoop? Plastic should not bleed. Was the hoop painted?

Is it possible that one of the colors bled and your circle turned purple because you were using pink fabric?

I know these sound like stupid questions. Almost as stupid as people asking me if I had locked my doors after my car was stolen out of my driveway. That happened 16 years ago and it still aggravates me whenever I think about it. Yes, they did find my car -- what was left of it.

You may try soaking it in BIZ. That for the most part if it is removeable, it will work! Use cold water first.

Could the hoop have been used at some point to dye something? Fabric paint?

Is the stain just on one side of the fabric? Or does it go all the way through?

This is a head scratcher! :)

Start soaking it in COOL or COLD water, never warm or hot, you don't want the stain to set. You may have to soak it for a few days, changing the water frequently. That shouldn't be happening! I have the same questions as the others.

I will bow to the stitchers with more experience than I as to the possible cleaning products that can be used.

I sincerely hope that it was NOT a wooden embroidery hoop that was dyed or stained pink. I agree, plastic hoops (and I have pink plastic hoops I've used) should never bleed.

Where did you get or buy the hoop from?

Hi,

I bought the pink plastic hoop at Walmart. I left it on for about a week.

I am soaking it in cold water and Someone told me to use vinegar on it.????

I am afraid to use Biz, it might take the color out the Weeks Dye Works thread I used.

NO VINEGAR!!! That is used to set the dyes.

Ok, I won't use the vinegar.

Thank you.

I was waiting for someone to also say what I'm sure is self-evident to you--be sure to buy another hoop!
