Hi Rosieposie!

you might want to go to e-bay and type in "Beginner's Guide to Cross Stitch fabrics" by krelubot on 5/26/12. I looked at it and it may help you understand the differences in the fabrics. Many stitchers have their "favorite" fabric(s).....hope this helps! :)

Hi there, there are lots of fabrics out there for sure, it can be confusing.

Jobelan is an evenweave fabric made by Wichelt. It is a cotton/rayon blend and does not have the thick and thin slubs (threads) that linen has making it a great fabric for beginners, or for large designs where all of the picture is stitched. Zweigart makes the same fabric and calls it Lugana.

Zweigart calls their 28 count linen Cashel. Other companies can over-dye on the Cashel linen as it is considered the 'premium' brand, but Wichelt does not.

Hope this helps.
