Cross Stitch Pattern entitled "Gettysburg"
I am looking for the pattern entitled "Gettysburg." It shows a Northern and Southern soldier facing each other during the Civil War. You know, brother verses brother. They are standing in front of their respective flags. It would complete my collection of Civil War cross stitch pictures.

Are you looking for the KIT? There is a Gettysburg kit by "Sunset Counted Cross Stitch" by designer Chris Calle on ETSY. Item # 13671. Shows Northern and South Civil Ware soldiers facing each other. Hope this helps!

I'm not an employee of Everything Cross Stitch but one of the stitchers that saw your "chat" message!

I agree with Bermuda. There is a kit entitled Gettysburg with the description that you use. I have done two of them for my son a Civil War Re-enactor and one for myself a Civil War junkie. The kit is very easy and had plenty of floss to do them. When framed they are very beautiful.

I checked several websites and most of them say the kit is currently unavailable. Must have been discontinued. I know I did mine several years ago and got them at JoAnn Fabrics. Sorry couldn't be more help.

I'm very interested in any Civil War (or as its called down here in Dixie, War of Northern Aggression;) ) ) cross stitch patterns and I've seen that kit in some Joann's Fabric stores before. Unfortunately it's been a couple of years since. I've always meant to pick it up but for some reason just didn't do it :(

What other cross stitch do you have of this era? I've only found one on another site and it's a pretty big project! O_O

Thanks for your replies. Sorry it took so long to answer, my computer system was "on vacation" but I am back on track now. I have found out that "Gettysburg" is indeed a discontinued pattern. What a shame.

It is a shame that they discontinued this kit. It was one of the best Civil War patterns that I had found. perhaps they will bring it out as just a pattern some day.

I agree with you this was one of the best Civil War depictions. Let's hope they will bring it out again. Hope they do it soon!

I think I have the kit/pattern you are looking for. I started it several years ago and then put it away. If you e-mail me at clpatt123@yahoo.com I will look tomorrow morning and let you know. If I have the one you want I will need your mailing information so I can get it to you. Hope this helps.

I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The history of the Civil War was a big deal for us as students. We actually studied individual battles, the Generals who led them, how many men, the dates, on and on......I just heard recently that they are no longer teaching anything about this war in schools across the U.S. because it is too "stressful". Have any of you heard this???

'stressful'????? Egads, learning about our country's history is now 'stressful'. I'd love to get hold of these IDIOTS who are screwing up our education so badly. I'd show THEM 'stressful'!!!!!

I've also heard they no longer even teach about the Holocaust in classrooms for fear of 'offending' someone. I am so sick of this attitude that I push Home Schooling everywhere I can get! If kids can't learn how to handle whatever stress they may find themselves under how in the world are they going to deal with it out in the VERY STRESSFUL real world????????

DancyFrog...I am with you!! Just imagine being a Civil War soldier, fighting and dying a horrific death along with thousands of other people. They must be turning over in their graves if they are aware that this information is now deemed as "too stressful". Heaven help us!! (My brother-in-law is a retired Marine Colonel. You can't even TALK to him about these things....he just "fritzes out". Plus...he is a retired History teacher/Football coach!!)
