as i promised, panel #3
panel#3 is the bottom right of the picture, once i finish panel #4 it will be 1 foot wide, and 2 feet tall, i stayed up till 1am EST. working on this to get it done, i found if you use fishing line, it hides the seems great (for anyone who wants to use more then 1 piece of fabric for a picture, i changed my mind on the size of the project, i will be working on the castle in the middle to start, and work my way out in a spiral pattern once the castle is complete. there are so many mistakes with this its unbelievable, but all well hidden if you dont look too hard

oh and another thing i discovered, dont use thread nippers or embroider scissors, instead look up "kotobuki traditional Japanese thread scissors" no finger holes, no real "proper" way to hold them when you use them, just grab cut and go, so if you have a hard time using any other scissors, look up kotobuki, they run for about $10 to $20 on amazon, i use the short blade style and i love it

Wow! That looks Great! :D And it would also drive me crazy if I attempted that!

And it's one of the advantages to cross stitch that small mistakes can be hidden. :) I've got so many 'oops' on my fox pic but only I know where they are. (I suppose if somebody wanted to take the time and effort they could locate them by comparing the chart but if they're going to be that persnickity beans on them!)

i know the feeling, one of the biggest mistakes is also the largest solid color visible in the picture, started using the wrong shade of blue-green and now im stuck with it for a couple panels, didnt realize it till i used 3 skeins of floss

I promise not to look very hard. You are the designer of this pattern. Therefore, there are no mistakes. We have all made "adjustments" as we stitch.

How many skein wrappers to you have in your jar?

Once this project is finish I think you should have a party for the Opening Day exhibition. Invite all of us to your place to see it. Hang it on your wall and cover it up. Then you uncover it and we all cheer. We can even make it a pot luck luncheon. I will bring the sparkling non-alcoholic wine.

How many more panels to go?

NANCYE G

the castle alone has 36 total panels... for what i consider "the castle" it will be 9 feet wide, 8 feet tall

the jar has32 skein wrappers soon to be 33

and i plan on having a showing once i finish the castle atleast, my average time (taking account that i work 40 hours a week) is about 3 months per panel, so it will take me 9 years to do, but some panels are more detailed then others, and the more "boring" panels with little detail are the most annoying since im stitching one color for days or weeks on end

Adam that looks great! And don't worry about "mistakes", I promise only you will notice them. Every single one of my projects has a stitch here or there that was off or not the right color, but when it's all finished even I can't tell now where they are! This project of yours is gonna be awesome! :)

NINE YEARS!!!! I wonder how this ChitChat will have evolved by then. Wonder how much a skein of DMC floss will cost in 2025.

WONDER WONDER WHO WROTE THE BOOK OF LOVE -- sung by the Monotones in 1959

WOW -- how many posters actually remember the song? Please, no comments like "I wan't even born then."

Try to alternate some of the "boring" panels with the others. It will make the time go a little quicker. Maybe you can finish in 8-1/2 years!!!

Nine years, Nancye??? I may not be around by then.
Adam...when it is done, would you please go outside and show it to the heavens? I plan on getting there by hanging onto DH's shirt tails, as I once had a life!

Im making the center castle from "legend of zelda a link to the past" (and possibly more) in 6" x 1' panels, and using fishing line to whip stitch the panels together, i started this project back on sept. 13th, 2015 and still going semi strong with it
