Tareena - I have a ?
Hi Tareena - I am working on your Artecy pattern Wolf 2. This is my 3rd coverall project. I hope you can explain something to me. I started this pattern in the upper left corner as the stitchers on this chat room taught me and am having no problems. My question is - The pattern is in blocks of 10 stitches as marked by the grid numbers but in reality the first blocks along the top row and down the left side of the pattern only have 9 stitches which is throwing me off on my counting. Is there a reason for this? Does this message make sense to you? I am really loving working on this guy and can't wait till I get to his eyes. Thanks.

HELLO CHERYL --

Do you know that you can send Tereena directly at artecy.com? She will probably see a direct eMail before seeing your post.

I have encountered a similar challenge a few times but never with Artecy patterns.

I understand your problem. Can't explain it easily. Tereena is great at answering questions. She is in Australia and is 12 or 13 hours ahead of Central time so it is already tomorrow afternoon there.

Hi Nancye - what are you doing up at this hour? I thought about sending Tareena a direct question to her but thought since it is tomorrow there already she might see this before she goes home at the end of her day and I would find an answer here in the morning. She is always real good about answering questions almost as soon as they are posted. I am having a good time with this pattern but just curious about the 9 stitches and 9 rows along the outside border. Sleep well - I think I am going to call it a day.

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your message. When we design our patterns we leave 1 full row empty all the way around the design. The reason for this is because for people who like to stitch in the middle there is a big black center arrow at the top and left hand side of the design. So they can lay the design out if they like in page number order and follow the arrows into the middle to find their starting point.

If we did not leave the empty row around the design, these big black arrows would cover the symbols under them.

It is no problem though if you start in the top left. You measure the pattern as normal, leaving at least a few extra inches all around to assist with framing and from the normal starting point you count one stitch over and one down and start there and stitch exactly as shown in the pattern.

I do check this chat room a couple of times a day, so no problem if you leave a message on here for me. I don't go home at the end of the day as I work from home :) so I am online most of the time.

Glad you are enjoying stitching it. Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks and Best Wishes
Tereena Clarke
