Besides cross stitch...
What other artsy/craftsy hobbies do you have?

I have a ton, as I grew up with a grandma who did everything and taught me at her side :)

I also do needlepoint and embroidery (hand, not machine), some plastic canvas needlepoint as well. I sew, and while I know how to quilt I don't really like it so don't do it much, haha. I knit and crochet, and have dabbled in weaving but again found it not really to my liking. I scrapbook and make altered books, home made cards, and other paper crafts. I really want to learn paper quilling but am afraid about starting yet another hobby! I also sketch just a bit and am trying to get better at it, and dabble in watercolours which I love but am not super good at. I write - both creatively for fun and as a journalist for pay. :)

I'm just curious about all of you and whether any of you are buried under your crafty hobbies like me!

I think I've tried just about all of the hobbies...some with more satisfaction than others. I've found that there are some hobbies that "follow" you wherever you travel (like textile hobbies, drawing, photography), but the one I had the most fun with was garden sculptures...not only was the scavenging for found treasures just plain fun, but having to learn a little about welding brought a very special person into my life...now I realize that most of the hobbies you expect to be of a solitary nature bring the unexpected in the way of people and places...a very happy coincidence. :)

Well, I've started out regular embroidery and I've done a bit of needlepoint. I can't do any knitting or crocheting as everything just ends up in unintentional macrame!;)
I also quilt, sew plushie toys, doll clothes, write a bit, and draw.
Enough to keep me busy!

I embroider, knit, crochet and am into photography. I also write poetry (all of my poems rhyme). Oh, I have done quilling and card making, too.

90% counted cross-stitching; 5% gardening: 5% floral arrangements

I have several different hobbies also. Besides cross stitching I do quilting, sewing, and crocheting afghans. In the past I have done rug hooking and plastic canvas which I don't do anymore. While not 'craftsy" I also do 1000+ piece jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and read. Oh how I love being retired!!!

In 1989 when my daughter Jill turned 9 I discovered the American Girl books at a local book store. We bought her first doll at Christmas. Then a couple of years later her second doll. When she turned 14 she decided she no longer liked dolls and asked if she could give them to the younger sister of one of her friends. I nearly had a stroke! They are very expensive dolls. I said no I was keeping them and that Christmas, Santa brought me an American Girl Doll and as they say the rest is history!! I collected them.....about 25.....until we sold our house to travel at which time I gave them to my granddaughter. From the time we bought our daughter the first one I have made clothes for the dolls. I also make place mats, napkins, pillow covers.....some from my cross stitch, and liners for my baskets. I make my own wood signs.....like "Harvest Blessings, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas......using stencils. I tried making my own greeting cards but ended up giving all those supplies to my daughter and granddaughter. I would like to learn to quilt but hubby keeps telling me I have enough hobbies. I like to garden when we owned our house and it is one of the things I miss most about not having a house. However our other daughter moved back to PA from CA just a few months ago and will be moving into a new home on 2 acres. She and her hubby have promised to make a pad for our RV so we can spend the summers there. And she and I have already decided that a garden is a must!

Wow, some very talented ladies here!!!

I have a group of girlfriends that gets together once in a while for what we call Stitch n Bitch sessions. No men allowed, haha. We cook dinner together and craft all night. All of us crochet and cross stitch but the other crafts we do varies, but it seems like all of us have so many interests, I figured it would be the same here!

I love taking landscapes with my phone camera and I also am into mini plant arrangements and when I can use my own cuttings. I'm at the trail and error stage but stitching is my true love and when I do something for the little grandchildren I love writing up a story that will include them to go with the picture to teach them to really look into any type of picture.

I also am making doll clothes for the 18 inch dolls. I have a small sports bag full of different fabrics.
