Artecy- Pricey patterns!
I was looking at the Birthday kitty cup pattern to stitch for a friend of mine. I noticed the pattern is $15.90. Which I think is kind of high for just a pattern. I double checked to make sure it wasn't the kit, which it wasn't. Looked at other patterns from other companies that seem more complicated yet better priced. Kind of disappointed in the price of this pattern. I also saw a pretty butterfly in greens and blues, that also is $15.90. I guess Artecy is just a higher priced product. Although I am not a cat person(dogs all the way lol) I do like this kitty cup collection especially the lady bug kitty in a cup! Too cute! Probably will buy anyway just surprised that the price of the pattern is twice what I usually pay!
Oh well, I guess no price is too high when it comes to patterns we like!
Happy Stitching!

The angel charts I use from Lavender and Lace cost $14-16. Most of the charts on my wish list are also in that price range, and last week I bought one for nearly $20 because I was so desperate to complete a set of patterns I collected in the 90s! I didn't look up these kitty patterns, and I won't because I love cats and don't want a new project! If a non cat person like them, well, just dangerous! Also, Artecy has those too-many-stitches charts!

I saw one the other day for $24...not Artecy...thought it looked like one that SHOULD be about $12...small, not detailed, few colors...a tiny sampler...I hope it isn't indicative of a trend! :)

To be fair, Artecy has beautiful things, very nice patterns, and they offer more service than other places. Also, these patterns that are 100% full stitches have no backstitching...and more shading. :)

Artecy patterns are very easy to read and have very easy detailed instructions. They are absolutely easy to do and are worth the money. That's my opinion.....

Thank you, ladies. I agree that if the quality of the pattern is better, easier to read and offers more shading etc., then it is well worth the money. And really for a birthday gift that isn't 'much to spend at all when you think about it. I figured I would probably end up buying it ( and maybe even the ladybug kitty cup) regardless of cost but you all just made the decision easier. Thanks!

Most of the patterns I buy are in the $15 - $20 range so I don't consider this expensive at all. Kits are more expensive but I rarely buy them because I have my own supplies and some of the supplies they include are not that great especially if it is their own brand of floss.

Never had any problems with the Artecy patterns I have purchased.

ladyj117, I am also a fan of Artecy designs. I have started: Red Barn in the Snow. It is beautiful. I was required to spend time recently sitting in an ICU Unit of a hospital...so...since there are not a lot of color changes, I had the fabric and a magnifier that I could use there...I began the picture. It is such a peaceful setting. If you go to WWW.Artecy.com you will see that many of their designs are $9.95 if you download the PDF file and print it yourself! I always have mine printed and mailed. These charts are very easy to read....and don't forget....that charge for the design includes mailing from Australia!!!

Jersey Crafter, Thanks for the info! I visited their website and did see you can purchase patterns to download for $9.95. They have a lot of pretty patterns and I think I saw the one you are doing with the barn in winter. Please post a picture when finished.
Thanks again and happy stitching.

Sometimes I think of what I spend when I go out to eat. Fifteen dollars won't pay for much at a restaurant but fifteen dollars for a design that will give me enjoyment for many months goes a lot farther. Guess I should eat out less and stitch more!

Cory, good point! It does cost a lot to eat out and I do it more than I should as well. I guess I should pack my lunch more. When I am tempted to eat out anyway, I should put that money into a little jar and then after it adds up, I can buy some more cross stitch! It might be a great way to break the habit of eating out! You're right though the joy of a finished cross stitch piece is money better spent!
Happy stitching!

Artecy patterns are worth every penny. I only have one because they are just too much for me. I need to see an end in sight.
