Ok, this is going to be odd, but
I've had a request from my son and his soon to be bride of what they want in a stitching.

They want a pic of a penguin holding a sword riding a dragon, fighting a cat holding a sword riding a unicorn!!!

The farthest I've gotten is envisioning the swords crossed in the center top with sparks.

How do I......where can I......H E L P !!!!!!

You sure they're not putting Mom on. I'd ask them to produce the pattern they want. Even if you have design software, this request sounds pretty far out.

I'm with jlhewes. If they have special requests they need to come up with the pattern. I can't even imagine that. I stitched wedding samplers for my kids and birth samplers for the grandkids but it was all conventional motifs. Try to gently explain to them that what looks good to young people might not necessarily appeal to them twenty years from. This sounds like it would be a huge project and it would be a shame if it got tossed out or relegated to a closet in a few years. What type of background would you do? I stitched a MN Vikings helmet for my son once, we discussed it over the phone. Unfortunately, it was not what he wanted and he stuck it in the attic along with an afghan that I had to crochet in the Viking colors. He claimed that every time he pulled it out during a game his team lost. Kids!

Texas STitcher: LOL (about the team losing b'c of the stitching and blanket). KIDS, they are in their own world. Mine too.

Whew! We ARE in agreement! I told my son if he drew it, I'd stitch it! It would by huge project!

I envision them flying, so I'd stitch it on either light blue or light grey cloth with some clouds in background. But, for the actual characters IDK!!
