Stamped bibs
I purchased 3 Dimensions 2 quilted bibs (Zebra and Lion) kits on another site (I'm a sucker for clearance and wanted to do bibs 1 set for my son's soon to be son, 1 set for my daughter for some day, and a set for me $3 a kit).
I have just finished the second set. cute pattern. But, to say the least they look primitive. My had would drag over the ink and towards the end I would fake the xstitches. The stitches look like rows, which I have given into. My question is, how do you keep from "fading" the stamped ink?
BTW, I had thread left over!

First attempt with camera on computer. Sorry for the quality.

xstitcher, is it stamped cross stitch? It looks adorable. First off I have to ask why did you purchase one for yourself? Do you use it when eating lobster? Only joking.

I don't do stamped x-stitch as I have stated frequently because the stitches never come out even and it drives me nuts. I have done quite a few table toppers and table cloths that were stamped but it was all various embroidery stitches. All I can tell you is that you have to work quickly and you cannot manipulate the fabric very much or the "ink" will wear off. Not the best medium for someone such as myself who spends more time taking stitching out than down. I had to get the hang for many, i.e., satin stitch and many others.
Could also be that they were old and the ink was brittle, maybe that's why they were on sale.
Sorry, hope that you are able to finish the ones that are left.

True, and remember bibs wear out and will most likely be tossed once the baby no longer needs them. So don't worry about it too much. I understand - it's the principle and wanting to know why.
My Olivia almost choked herself trying to pull her bib off. The girl never did wear one. She fought it at nine months. I'm sure you've heard that babies are not supposed to eat solids until they are a year old because eating food before then can cause many food allergies. My daughter nursed for 2 years, the girl begged shamelessly. When she came home from work, she would pull at her garments and say "nur, nur". It was so cute. We used paper towels instead of bibs. I had a drooler and he lived in bibs for almost two years. The other two I can't remember.
Are you working on a birth sampler? I liked stitching those. Lots of bright colors.

I assume the baby will wear a bib.... their English Mastiff wears one :)
Birth announcement is on order from here. It's the Sleepy Bunny. It is out of stock right now. Should be in soon. My DIL wanted pastel colors and she likes bunnies!
