On the brown border, at the top of chitchat, it has page numbers....Good morning! :)

Nancy, I'm not Tech Support, and I have wondered the same thing. As far as I know, there is no search method for the message board. I was looking for something yesterday that I remembered reading a while ago and went back 20 pages looking at the post titles and the initial blurb that shows up in the listing. Finally found the post and it wasn't quite what I had thought that it was. Oh well! My only thought is to post a message about what you are looking for and see if somebody responds that posted the original message (or remembers it). Not much help, I know! Would be nice as an upgrade to Chit Chat. I would also like a profile section that we can find out about each other, such as, actual name, gender, where we live, stitching interests, projects done or current projects... It would be fun and could be helpful as well.

VCESS -- that doesn't work. The page numbers keep changing as more posts are being made. There are presently 211 pages. Today's postings are on Page 1. Next week we may be up to 219 pages and the posts made today might be found on 8!

I am looking for a way to search old posts by topic. e.g. "Purple Cow" or "Old Floss."

In response to VCESS: On my screen it is olive green, but it says 'Chit Chat' on the left and on the right side it has the page numbers. Click on the little down arrow and you can select what page to go to. At the bottom on right side, there are little forward and back arrow buttons. Single arrow goes one page at a time. Multiple arrows takes you to the very end or first page depending on the direction of the arrow. Hope that helps!

Bruce, I never fill that stuff out anyway...if you want to know, ASK! :) People will answer with what they are comfortable with. Everyone is so friendly, its hard to keep in mind that this is still a public forum, with the usual stalking, angry freaks from other boards!

At the bottom, too! :)

BRUCE -- I am starting my own little log to keep track of who lives where and other info that interests me.

Looking backwards for old posting titles doesn't always work either. We tend to get off the original topic frequently.

ECS is a small company. I am sure that tech support has a lot of other challenges to deal with. For example, someone has got to come up with a way to make Kristi's job a lot easier. Listing all of those floss lists for each pattern has got to be extremely tedious.

Sorry! I didn't read that you were looking for specific posting...could have figured it out if I had thought about it, but reacted...didn't THINK! Need more coffee! :)

So true, VCESS. There probably aren't too many stalking, angry freaks though on a message board about cross-stitching. ;-)
Good idea, Nancy! I just thought it would be fun and easy if you could just click on a screen name and pull up a profile (my little dream world). I tend to get people's names confused and where they say that they live. Oh well, my problem.

If you put me in your list, as my screen name suggests, my name is Bruce (male) and I live and work in downtown St. Louis. Been stitching off an on for about 30 years. Current project is Fall Tree II by Mystic Stitch. I think that I read before that you are also in St. Louis area. A lady named Nancy taught me to cross-stitch when I had a shop on Main Street in St. Charles. Don't remember her last name after all of these years. It would be a hoot if it turned out to be you.

You would be surprised, Bruce! I know I have been!
