altering pattern
I want to make this pattern wider and longer. Do you have suggestions for that?

What is the width and height you want?
There are a couple of ways to do this.
If you use the calculator founds under ‘fabrics” on ECS
You can put in a lower aida fabric number than the 14-count that was used on this sample, say a 10- count or 8-count aida, would make the pattern larger OR instead of stitching ‘over one’ (square) on Aida fabric, you stitch ‘over TWO’ squares to enlarge it. Keep in mind that the larger you make a picture, the increased ‘distortion’ of the picture will be and you will have to stand further away from it for the blending of the different flosses to make up the picture. My suggestion is to ‘play’ with the calculator to get it close to the size you wish which means you will need a larger piece of fabric and will need more of the floss colors.
Hope this helps!

I want to add the last name so the frame border needs to be wider. I need to probably add 1 curve before the center piece of the frame and one after.

Perhaps you could NOT connect the curves at the top and bottom and leave enough space between them to widen the piece. Then you could embellish with a pearl or some other bead to tie it together. It is a lovely pattern and I don't think it would be difficult to alter.
