This happens to me all the time too and not just here. I bought a pattern here on ECS called beach ladies and low an behold the following week it went on sale, not only that but I found out it was sold in kit form as well, even though I don't buy kits that often anymore it was still frustrating. I swear there is a spirit in the universe that has a cosmic laugh every time I buy something.

I noticed that beach ladies pattern was on sale and thought about all the stitchers who had purchased that pattern already. Just remember you had it before anyone. I kick myself all the time. If I am in WalMart and I see something I want and buy it, lo and behold, I will eventually see it clearanced out. Drat! Double Drat! So , yes, been there done that. Especially with cross stitch material. Pam

It happens all the time. I think it happens because I like to get a head start on a season or holiday. I've just learned to grin and bare it!

I put any kits or patterns in my wish list for a week or two and I keep any eye on them and if they come on special I then make the decision to buy or not or delete them if I decide I don't like them as much as I thought.

It happens to me a lot - maybe because most of the patterns I like I want immediately! Waiting is not one of my virtues. I do keep some on my wish list and watch to see if they go on sale, but I don't always get it right - on sale I mean.

Thanks for the post on this issue. For those who don't know me, I do the I.T. and web development here at ECS. We put categories, collections and other groupings on sale each week and month, so I can promise that there isn't anything other than bad timing when this sort of thing happens.

But I do have a question for you all: Would you like a feature in the wish-list that would send you an email notification when an item in your wishlist goes on sale? We like to keep folks informed about what's going on, but we also don't wanna just keep throwing out emails. it's a fine line between being informative and being annoying. (LOL)

Troy, I like your idea of an informative email when something on my list goes on sale. I also would absolutely love a feature like Amazon has telling I already bought an item on such and such a date. I have so many patterns in my stash that I forget sometimes and I have bought some twice. Thanks for asking!
