Nothing is close. The Gentle Arts are unique overdyes. They also change with every batch, so you have to buy enough the first time.

More thoughts: some patterns give substitute DMC numbers. Or, go to a store or online site that carries Gentle Arts floss. When you know the color family & lightness/darkness, you can pick out DMC colors yourself.
For instance, if they're mainly a medium grey-brown & a very light grey-brown, you can pick similar DMC shades.
