Cupcake Tree, The a Cross Stitch Pattern by Raise The Roof Designs

I got this to make for my daughter, who has decorated her entire kitchen with cupcake items. It was a delight to work on, and she loved the finished product! I did change a few things, such as the color of the cloth - I chose a light sky blue color instead of the recommended darker blue. Also I did not outline the lettering in black. The darker cloth and the black outlining gave it a 'Halloween' look and my daughter likes pastels and lighter colors. The pattern called for hand-dyed threads from The Gentle Art and Crescent Colours, and they worked perfectly for this picture. They added a 'naturalness' to the leaves and shading to the lettering and cupcakes. I would definitely recommed getting the button packet from Just Another Button Company - those little insect buttons add a special touch to the finished picture. There's only one recommendation I would make for this pattern and that would be to include the floss list on the product description page along with the button packet suggestion.
