The Colors of Mexico a Cross Stitch Pattern by Jan Hicks Creates

Stitch Count: 291 x 300 14 ct (over 1) or 28 ct (over 2) - 20.8 x 21.4 in. 16 ct (over 1) or 32 ct (over 2) - 18.2 x 18.8 in. 18 ct (over 1) or 36 ct (over 2) - 16.2 x 16.7 in. 40 ct (over 2) - 14.6 x 15 in. Colors of Mexico is an adaptation of an antique Mexican sampler. There is no identifying information on the sampler, unfortunately. The person I bought it from could only tell me that it had been hanging in her grandmother’s home for years. The colors are a combination of the faded colors on the front and the more vibrant colors on the back. The model is stitched on 40 ct Saltbush by Fox and Rabbit Designs using the called for Hand-dyed Fiber silks. Alternative fabrics: This design would be lovely stitched on any dark or light neutral linen. I recommend staying away from a more colorful linen because it would compete with the colors in the design.
