Each letter is 18 stitches wide and 28 stitches high. That makes each individual letter 1.3 x 2 inches. Say you are stitching a name with five letters, e.g. Linda. The finished stitched area would be 7.7" x 2" You can make it bigger by stitching a frame around the name or adding embellishments like the flower or trim shown on the example. Or, maybe find an alphabet with larger letters and use the same idea.

I would be curious as to what you decide to do.
