Chart
I am wondering if this chart is in color? Sometimes it is just easier.... Lol.

Also I see this can be bought either as a kit or just the chart. Is there any differences?

Thanks!

Hello,

This chart will come printed in black and white. A lot of designs these days will only be in black and white because of the cost of color printing. So it's very rare to find a design printed in color or with color.

A kit means that you get all of the materials needed to stitch the design. The chart, fabric, thread, instructions and a needle. The chart is just that...the chart :) So any supplies that you need for the design, will have to be purchased separately. Hope this information helps! Thank you.

Thanks for the info on the chart.

I think I should have worded my question differently on the kit. Is the quality any less to buy it as a kit? I see some posts on different boards where people feel the quality is not as good when buying a kit. So I think that was more my question here. I have the threads needed for this at home but I would need the fabric and chart. I dont see the fabric listed seperately - would my only option then be to buy the kit?

Hello,

Imaginating kits are good quality. They give 20-25% extra when it comes to fabric and thread so not having enough floss doesn't usually happen. The floss is the regular 6 stranded cotton DMC thread and it's pre-sorted on a card.

Unfortunately, we do not have the Smoketone fabric available on our website because we can't get it from our distributor :( But the fabric does come in the kit and I believe, Imaginating sells the fabric on their website separately (www.imaginating.com). The fabric comes from DMC as well. Hope this helps :)

You have been so helpful - thank you!!!

One last question - is the chart with the kit labeled with the dmc color numbers should it be needed again? Sometimes my mom and I have swapped charts.

No problem :)

The chart itself will have the color key with symbols and the kit will also have what they call a "kit sheet". The kit sheet will include some instructions, a detailed list of what should be inside your kit, and it will also contain the DMC floss list with symbols, DMC color name and how many strands are with each color. Hope this helps :)
