I believe in individual choice as in no cross stitch police. I think that cross stitch is about creativity and imagination. You could have 3 stitchers doing the same pattern and each one is going to be different. Cross stitch is not about cookie cutter works. Think of a quilt. On the hand quilt each quiltmakers stitches are different-some stitch very small and some not so small. So yes, joberg, it is possible and you are welcome to take a pattern and make it your own! You can even choose different colors. It is your choice and I honestly believe most stitchers feel this way. When I first started, I bought kits and ended up with some not very good floss in the kit along with some coarse material. So I realized I could buy the pattern and make my own choice about materal and floss. So you go for it! And enjoy. Peace. Pam

Hi,
Yes you can. If you tap on your chat title ‘American Flag...”
And then tap on the ‘View Item’ button, you will see that it is a cross stitch pattern. The model suggests doing it on 28- count fabric, but that is ‘over 2” squares.
If you stitch this on 14-count ‘over one’ you will get the same size as stitching it on 28-count ‘over 2’.
With that said, the finished piece will be a good size (See finished size under ‘View item’ button). But it will be a beautiful pattern when completed. Don’t let the size of it put you off- I have a rather large WIP project that will be larger than this when I complete! I’m one of the stitchers that saw your chat. :)

Bermuda, I stand in awe for the projects that you and others do. It's amazing that some do all over. Pam
