I can’t stitch with all this racket!
The crazy hoarder that lives across the street is having the trees/shrubs/weeds/vines/and who knows what all else is in there, cut down in her front yard. They started at 8:30 this morning, saws, chippers, crashing and banging. We’re taking at least 20 years worth of untended growth. She’s a nice person, with a good heart, but about some things she’s bat schit crazy.

So, is this one of those hoarder-intervention reality shows? Poke your head over the shrubs ... you might get your face on TV! :)

Guess every neighborhood has one--mine set's off fire crackers ALL SUMMER LONG at all hours of the day or night.

Check out the local ordinances Dave and see if there is a law against ‘nuisance noises’. If you’re on decent terms with the neighbor let them know it is bothering you, especially at night when you are trying to sleep. Do NOT tell them about nuisance noise law. See if they cooperate, if not, call police and tell them you DID talk to the neighbor about it and ask them to step in. Being a good neighbor is respecting other people’s right to peace and quiet. If I sound ‘tough’ about the subject its because we live to ‘Jughead’ next door which took 5 years to ‘train’ that our property is not his property and to keep the noise down after 11 p.m. (longer than it took to train our past pets); and we have 2 of the same on either side of us down south. We installed outside cameras and caught the guy in our backyard when we weren’t there; he ignored the ‘no trespassing’ sign on the backyard gate AND threw the gate bolt near the top of the gate (since then we installed a lock bolt in the middle of the gate that can’t be reached). DH called him while we were up North after DH’s I-phone alerted us and, yes, there he was on the camera video. DH asked him if he had been in our backyard, the guy sputtered out some lame excuse he was checking on something and DH made it clear he was to stay out of our yard and asked him if he understood and the jerk stated yes; I think this nosy neighbor thinks one of the other neighbors saw him and reported him to us - We are letting him think like that to keep him off our property.
Jaj, maybe your crazy hoarder got notified by the city to ‘clean up her act’ or the city is going to take action. Been there and had one of those also over the course of the years.

We have someone who enjoys fireworks too, usually in the middle of the night, I’ve heard after having a few too many adult beverages. Mabel sleeps right through them.
The action finally stopped at 4:30. I can hear the tv again, and Mabel has stopped barking!
My neighbor left for a bit, and came home with her car on a tow truck. Why didn’t she have it towed to someplace that could fix it you might ask. I did, she’s hoping her BIL can fix it (free) if not it may turn into a 2000 lb paperweight like her last one.
