Hello. My name is Karen and I am fellow stitcher, not an employee of ECS. In answer to your question, this is a kit and it contains everything you need to complete the project, including a needle. It does not include an embroidery hoop. If you look to the right of the picture, you will see .where it says kit and describes what is included.
