Question about the thread
Hello, I have a question about the thread for The Blessed Mother cross stitch. What thread are these? DMC, Anchor, etc.? When I recieved the kit, they are not assigned to thier specific legend and thread number. Please advise

Thank you,
Joy

Joy, I am a stitcher on this site. After years of not doing kits, I bought one and guess what? I am in the same boat as you. I guess I am going to do some detective work on what color thread goes where. The chart is daunting to begin with and I have a feeling it is going to be a long trip. I love your Blessed Mother. She will be beautiful when you finish. Peace. Pam

If it is a kit and doesn't say it's DMC or Anchor, I would guess that it isn't either. Dimensions, Bucilla and a few other companies can be converted to DMC. Just go online and type in the name of the company and conversion to DMC or Anchor. Hopefully it works for both you and Pam.

Hello Joy,

I believe Janlynn uses their own brand of floss for their kits. If you have any questions regarding the floss and the color key, I would definitely contact them to see what information they could give you. Their website is www.janlyn.com and their number is
(413) 322-9770. Thanks!

Judy, you are my hero! I didn't know that and I am ecstatic. I was looking at it last night and thinking "How in the world am I going to do this?" Thank you so much!!!! Pam

Glad to have been of help, Pam. I usually use my DMC thread on the kit and then use the kit thread on small things that I'm not worried about running out of thread. Please post a picture of your progress/finished project.

Judy, I was sitting here (after transferring the #s and was thinking of doing just what you suggested). And I think I will follow your lead in using DMC and saving the other threads for something else. Again, you have no idea of what you lifted off my shoulders. :)
