The kit isn't wrong; this is a counted cross stitch kit. There shouldn't be any markings on the fabric. You will have a pattern included in the kit which will show you - along with reading the directions - where to start and what to stitch where.

This kit is so cute for a pin cushion or a wall hanging.

If you have never done counted cross stitch before this is a good project to start with. If you have problems understanding the directions, you can always ask for help here. Karen
