Thread organizers
Initiating a debate! After a recent post re cardboard thread organizers with holes., I am curious to know how popular these are versus bobbins. Personally I find it tedious to separate the floss strands with the holed ( holey?) organizers and end up with a tangled mess ๐Ÿ˜ž so for me it's bobbins every time๐Ÿ˜€. Curious to see your comments on this!

Bobbins for me too. Much easier & neater. All my floss is on bobbins, & stored in plastic cases, in numerical order. When I am ready for a project, I pull the bobbins I need, put each in a plastic organizer bag on a big ring, & put it with the fabric I'm going to use. I currently have three projects bagged up & waiting, even though it will be awhile before I get to each one. Then, when I complete a project, I file the floss back in the plastic organizer boxes. I know this makes for multiple bobbins of the same color floss, but it actually saves me lots of time.

I also prefer the bobbins.....much neater, but maybe if youโ€™re working with a lot of colours the holey organisers are easier.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Definitely bobbins for me, too, but I don't use the rings. I prefer another small plastic organizer box instead.

I mentioned that I pull all my floss for a project, & put it in individual little bags on a big ring. The reason I use the baggie, is because when I am done with the color I am working on, & have to change, it is much easier to put the balance of that unused thread,( as long as it is long enough to use yet) in the bag loose, to be used on another spot on the chart. Then, at the end of the project, I rewind the usable floss on the bobbin. That way, I am only rewinding the floss once. Most of my projects are larger, coverall pieces, with a LOT of colors, so by doing it this way, it saves me time.

I use bobbins too. and use a small storage box too. I have a lap tray with side pockets and my storage box fit in it just right and another side pocket for snippets.

Labeled, individual bags, with a needle,, if it's a color pulled for a project. I remove needles for the next project and never just leave in the bag forever. No, I don't pre-thread needles unless there is a large amount of one color coming up, as for a border...
I find the paper threaders "fidgety", so much so, that I large, loosely loop the thread from kits and put in bags.
I've never understood bobbinating...total waste of time and space to me. All that unnecessary handling and repetitious winding! Ugh! Keep it neat, simple, easy and clean.
Doesn't really matter...you do what works for YOU! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I keep my bobbins in 4 big bobbin storage boxes but my project bobbins etc I keep in an old lunch box that is perfect for the job. Whoops Iโ€™m sure I said that just last week.

I probably said everything I said today last week! Think it'll change tomorrow? Ohhh! I keep running the definition of insanity through my head. A very familiar tune. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I use the cardboard bobbins in a plastic storage box. I use smaller boxes to pull the colours needed for a specific project. I do find the thread organizers helpful when doing kits to organize and identify the colours.
