8 count aida
How many strands of floss are used with 8 count aida for cross stitch?

Honestly, I have never worked on 8 count. If it were me, I would use at least 3 and maybe 4. Some other stitchers may have better info than me as this is just a guess. Two would not give you the coverage you need. Good luck. Pam

I've never worked with 8-count, but I am working on 5 pieces using 11-count, and I'm using 4 strands. This is probably something you just have to experiment with to get the look you want. I would think that is also depends on what the pattern is.

What I would do is go to the edge of your fabric, with 4 strands of floss in your needle and stitch about 4 stitches horizontally and vertically. Does it cover the fabric well? If not, try 5, then try 6. This works when I buy a size that I seldom use, or a pattern that doesn't look like a full picture.

Su Pitt, that is a great tip you just gave. I never thought of that and that is what I like about this site. No one that I know does cross stitch in this town. If there is, they are hiding!! Pam
