frame for sewing
I purchased a sewing kit for a picture that is 6 x 14. Where can I get a frame to fit this picture.

Do you sell frames for the kits that we complete. I did one that was 6 x 14 and I cant find a frame to fit it.

That is not a standard size so the chances of finding something
"ready made" is very slim. For example 4"x 6", 8"x 10", 11"x 14"
are standard. Some places sell legs (sides) of a frame you can assemble
for a "custom" size. Good luck.

Do you live near a Hobby Lobby or Michael's? Sometimes, instead of framing, I do it as a wall hanging. Even if you don't sew there are many "no sew" products on the market. Pillows are also an option. Sometimes, you can buy a larger frame and use a mat to match your stitching. I am sure there are other options and the stitchers on this site are really savvy. Pam

I have been experimenting with wrapping my projects on stretched artist canvas. So far I have been happy with the results, and it is much cheaper than framing.

I have had good luck online. Google or do an internet search for 6" x 14" frame. You should see several frame making companies online. I have used me called Art to Frame and a few others. Online sources will not carry this size, but like any framer, they will make it for you. Check locally for a frame shop. Local art supplyshops may know who does framing in your area.

Jaba, if you cover the edges with gros grain ribbon is matching or contrasting colour it gives a good finished look. Diane

That is what I do, and use two sided tape to attach it to the edge. I also use card stock to cover the back, so much cheaper then buying a frame.

I have never used canvas to display any of my projects. Would someone tell me how that is done. It really would be cheaper than having it framed. I usually do my own framing for something that is going to be in my home but to give away, I use Hobby Lobby framing depts. Thanks. Pam

Pam, I buy a stretched canvas, center my project. I staple my fabric around the side of the frame. Then I either use fabric glue or double sided tape and wrap ribbon around the frame to hide the staples. Then I glue card stock to the back of the frame to tidy it all up. I have been happy with the results, and the cost is minimal. Hope this helps! I don't know if you can see the ribbon, but these were my first attempts.
