Ready to start
I have the Fabric and the floss, and the pattern printed. So I'm ready to start. I guess what I'm wondering. I'm starting the the upper left hand corner. Is it better to work down or across?

I always start in the upper left corner, katy, and I work both directions. You could work it in blocks of 10, but I've been stitching for so long, I just move whichever way works best for me. There is no set way you should work a pattern, just do what you want. It will look the same, either way.

Sue is right - whatever works for you. I do tend to follow the page numbers - so that usually goes across. But if I run into shorter pages for the last rows, I will work the page above and the final page below before moving across. Hope this makes sense.

As the others have said, do what works for you. As long as all the stitches are in the same direction, you're good. I start with the color closest to the edge so it's easier to count; that could be anywhere! The one I've just started I'm starting from the upper right corner since there are stitches right there.

Love the project. Like the others have said, work it however feels right for you. I have tried starting in the middle with the larger cover alls, but starting in the upper left corner works best for me. I work one square of 10 stitches at a time, and go across. So I do one page at a time and follow the page numbers, if that makes sense. But do whatever is comfortable for you.

My current project is the first time I have started to the top left. I have been following page numbers but I am all over the area by doing one color in a large section before moving on to the next. I also try to do any confetti stitches first. I use the loop and pin method.
