It's my turn now
After having 2 bouts of surgery to repair a broken neck (the last one in 2005) I am having serious trouble with it at the moment (nausea, vomiting and loads of pain). Saw the doctor before Christmas and he sent me to the physio for therapy and gave me pills to take to help with the pain. The physio has now given up as it has gone too far for him to be able to make a difference and after spending last weekend in bed unable to move I went back to the doctor and he has referred me to a neuro-surgeon for MRI scans and x-rays to see if anything has happened over the last 10+ years. So as well as being a pain in the neck I have a pain in the neck - not good believe me. But I'm still stitching furiously to keep my mind off everything and have taken a week off on sick pay from the supermarket as I did not think it was safe for me to be there.

Sure hope you get to feeling better soon, but more importantly, I hope you get some answers. Sometimes just knowing the what and why are therapy in themselves.

Deirdre, so sorry to hear this. Please take care of yourself. Let us know what the neuro surgeon says. Glad you can still stitch. Sue S.

I'm so sorry. You have been so kind making all those beautiful gifts for others all the while carrying such a heavy burden. I truly hope you find answers and feel better soon. You are in my prayers. Take care.

Deirdre, I had no idea. I am so sorry that you are going through this. You have to put yourself first right now. I am sending prayers on the Oklahoma wind. I looked New Zealand up the other day (because you are there). I had to be reminded that it is summer there and you had been out mowing the lawn. Please take care, my friend. Peace always. Pam

Oh, Deirdre, I can't imagine what you're going through! I hope the neuro-surgeon can come up with some answers for you as to why this keeps happening to you, and fix it!! Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Deirde I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I have never heard of someone surviving a broken neck so I guess you can count your blessings there. I think physical therapy is a joke. Has never helped me. Use your sick time to rest and stitch. I can't imagine being able to stitch in such pain. Be thankful it is summer there and you don't have to cancel appt because of snow and ice. We are about to get dumped on again this afternoon. I will be praying for you. I hope you feel better soon.

Strangely enough I am a winter person and hate the heat as I don't function very well in it. So provided I have supplies in the cupboard wet weather doesn't bother me and we don't have snow were we are just so d**** good rain and hail .

So sorry about the pain. Glad you can still stitch and keep your mind off it ( I don't say this lightly--I can't imagine the pain) I will be thinking of you, sending prayers, and I hope you will feel better soon!
