cross stitch overload
Believe it or not, I am already getting May Mania together. I have twelve kits complete and one that still needs fabric, which I have already ordered. I am pretty eclectic about what I stitch but there is so much out there ,I can't get it all done. I have suffered two strokes and after 10 years have started stitching. This is my passion. I wish I had more hands .
I have am so behind ,10 years behind. I love Lizzie Kate but I am so sorry she retired.I gave most of my stash away after years and to say I regret it is an understatement. Lol Oh well. So who's out there and what's your story. This is my first posting so don't hold back, talk!! Beekie001

Welcome Beekie. I'm one of the quieter ones but nonetheless the board is full of nice new friends. What is May Mania?

Welcome, Beekie. Wow! You have done a ton of projects. You put me to shame. My husband had a stroke at 58 so I know the challenges. Those Lizzie Kate patterns are really too cute. I hope you will show us some of your work. My name is Pam and I am a stitcher.

There is a positive side to have given your stash away. Instead of regretting what you gave away. You can create another one. You can collect patterns that appeal to you today. There are lots of new fabrics, flosses and other goodies. You will have fun deciding what to do next. You don't have o go thru all that old stuff that probably no longer appeals to you.

Welcome Beekie, I have been cross stitching since the late 70's. Lee Ward catalog came out with a set of pictures and called it a new craft!!! I still have those pictures and have cross stitched ever since. I am semi retired, live in the Village of Morrill Nebraska (population 900) which is 8 miles from the Wyoming line. I work as a church secretary, in my spare time, I cross stitch baptismal doves for the church, I too cross stitch for World of Charity's stitching. Enjoy the chat room!!!

I lost most of my stash when we moved and downsized to a small house at the beach. I had little say in what came with us.
Now, 16 years later, I am back cross stitching for the past four years. I too feel that I literally lost ten years, which at my age is devastating. I have carved out a good stash, perhaps too big, but I got DH to go to Michael's today for glue and tape I use in framing. Three of us women were giggling about my DH, !ooking lost in a craft shop! You just keep moving forward, Beekie and everything will fall into place. I am enjoying all the new fabrics, flosses and ideas!

Welcome, Beekie! I don't know what May Mania is, either. I've been stitching since I was 8 years old, taught by my Grandma, some 63 years ago. Cross stitching keeps me sane, it also got me through a year of chemo therapy back in 1982. My favorite designer is Thea Gouverneur. I've finished a couple of her city scapes, and getting the urge to do another one in the near future. I agree with the other stitchers, building up a new stash will be great fun! There are so many new fabrics, floss, and designs out there now that you will want to try them all! Have fun!

Welcome Beekie to a very chatty group of stitchers! It is a wonderful place for a chuckle, a cyber hug and very caring prayers when needed. I'm from Michigan (north of Detroit area) and only been cross stitching for about 8 years now. In the past I have done some embroidery, knitted, jewelry making, sewing (clothing) etc. - if it is crafty I have tried much of it. I started cross stitching with kits, but once I found this site (2 years ago now) my stash has exploded. I have sooooo many projects to do that I probably won't get to all of them, but will give it the old college try. Many are cover all so they will take time, but who cares?!! I LOVE doing this and making the pictures come alive with needle and floss. Now, if only ECS would quit showing so many new patterns that I love AND having sales on my favorites, then maybe I could get ahead a bit on my stash. Instead it seems to stay the same level or creeps up in volume. 😀 But I do consider that a good problem! And I have just proven my chatty comment at the beginning of this post!!

Welcome back to stitching. I put it aside for years as well and had de-stashed. I have learned new techniques and found cool new tools. Plus all of the patterns. I have been adding them to wish lists because I know I will not be able to do them all. LOL
