Trick or Treat
So excited I finally finished the Trick or Treat pattern that I was stitching for my dad! It is so colorful. I just love it and hope he will too. I will post a picture after I get it cleaned up and framed. I was thinking of using a black frame and painting silver spiderwebs on the corner of the frame. Then matt the piece in maybe a dark orange or purple. I have plenty of time to get this done before sending it to him in Florida this coming fall!

I can't wait to see it. I like the idea you have for framing it. Are you going to put glass in the frame or " poof" it out with batting?

Pam,
As much as I like the poof it out look I usually put the design behind glass. I just think it stays cleaner this way. What are your suggestions for cleaning them if you don't use a glass frame?

Carissa,

I plan on doing the pattern again but changing up the colors a little bit. I think that will be fun!

I use a small, extremely soft paint brush. I just go around the inside edges and very softly on the actual design. I always make sure the brush doesn't have lingering dust on it-just hit the bristles a couple of times. So far it has served me well. Also, usually I don't use white fabric to stitch on. I enjoy all the colors and also fiddler's. I have also made large wall hangings and just use the brush to lightly go after any dust the same way. I think your idea of framing your Trick or Treat sounds really cute. When you paint the spiderwebs are you going to use that puff up paint or one of those silver perma markers? I am really looking forward to seeing it. Pam

Really looking forward to seeing it! Love the ideas you have for the matting and framing! Your Dad I’d going to absolutely love it! I would love to ‘be a spider (versus a fly) on his wall” to see his delighted surprise when you gift it to him! Will be curious as how you do the spider webs on the frame.
I’m going to stitch “Blissfully Unaware” ( on Page 8 of the Halloween patterns here on ECS) as one of my very small projects (to save my sanity) while doing my bigger projects. I’ll frame it and hang it on the front door so anyone who comes to visit will read it....:)

Hey, Bermuda, need your help. I went to page 8 for Halloween and couldn't find Blissfully Unaware. It might be something I could do for the front door entrance. Did I go to the right page? Thanks. Pam

I hear you Pam... give me a minute to find it again...

Ok, Pam, you still out there? Go to the ‘Search for’ area (at top of this page) and type “Blissfully Unaware” in the area. It should take you right to it. It’s the one on the purple fabric...read the saying, that’s why I’m going to frame it and hang it on the front door. 😊

Thanks, Bermuda. That totally went on my wish list and then I also saw "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Also put on wish list. Pam
