From looking at the picture, I would think you would have to loosen the knobs that are on the 'u' shaped arm, then rotate the scroll part, in order to see the back.

Good question!... At first I thought "You just rotate it!" (sorry) but then I realized the scroll bars stick out past the bow-like piece of wood, not sure how Edmunds can say it "rotates a full 360 degrees"... Hopefully someone on here can help!

I think they mean that it turns around horizontally 360 degrees, right?

Oooooooohhhhhhhh, maybe you're right djhmom55

So...I have too many screws loose :-)

Do you think the knob on the 'u' needs to be loosened, then rotate it around (not actually flipping the scroll part)?

My 7 year old grandson looked at it and decided that it will turn all the way around, but the project won't flip all the way over. He thinks you could flip it back and forth if you want to see the back of the project. I think he might be right.

Okay, I own one of these, but it's not my favorite. If I remember correctly, l loosened the top section of the vertical stand part so the U section bent toward me. I then loosened the two knobs on the U section and flipped the scroll frame over as far as it would go. Does that make sense? It wasn't perfect, just okay. And yes, it will rotate horizontally, also, if you'd rather do it that way. This stand is at my other house, so I can't actually check to see how I did it right now.

thanks for all of the replies. looks like this stand will not allow one to turn the project over easily to finish off threads. am going to return it.

I have a Necessaire floor Stand from 'Needle Needs" in the UK. LOVE it!! It was a pricey investment though. The frame doesn't attach to the stand. The stand has two arms with little pegs on the end and the frame just rests on these arms and I easily just flip my frame when I want to reach the back. There might be other makers around now with the same design. Liz

To get to the back of your work, you loosen the nobs at the side of the U where it holds your frame in and than you can turn your work over to see the back. I have this stand and use it with almost all of my stitching.
