One step forward
Half a step back...went to the dentist yesterday to have a tooth pulled, and bone graft, (for an implant) He pulled the tooth, but couldn’t do the bone graft because the root of the tooth was huge, left a big hole, and is dangerously close to the sinuses. At least I only have to eat soft food for two days, but he told me not to blow my nose, and sneezing is also on my list of don’ts for a few days. I napped most of of yesterday, but I’m back to stitching today, Boo Butterfly behaved itself today, and all my stitches went in the right holes!

My niece works for a dentist and is trying to talk me into having an implant. I am such a baby when it comes to dentists. What is your next option?

I actually have 3 missing teeth, all upper left, back teeth. My choice was implants, or a partial. The dentist said implants would be like natural teeth, and partials usually end up in a drawer. Implants are more expensive, but a partial I probably wouldn’t use most of the time would just be a waste. It’s a long process, I should be able to have the bone graft in a couple of weeks, then it’s 4 months for that to heal, then another 4 months for the implant to heal. I’m going to try to stretch it out, if I can hold out until January I’ll have insurance money again!

Sorry to hear you have to have expensive dental work done. It's good Boo Butterfly decided to behave itself today and you make lots of progress.

I work for a dentist and we have seen many people who have had implants, they seem pretty happy with them. Yes they are expensive but I believe they are worth it. Please follow the advice as best you can on the extraction site preservation because it is the key to the implant site, it sounds like you had a sinus exposure, which isn't as bad as a perforated sinus. I put boo butterfly to the side for now dang thing is giving me stitching nightmares.

I have been dealing with dentist problems for two years now. So I feel your pain. I have thankfully not had to have any pulled but between cavaties, root canals, and crowns it has been a mess. Feel better soon.
